EAT & DRINK

There are so many great restaurants and bars in Steamboat that it can be hard to choose, so we have some recommendations.

Hungover and craving breakfast tacos? Check out Taco Cabo downtown. A great coffee spot is Off the Beaten Path which is also a cute bookstore.

Sunpie’s Bistro is a popular, casual dining spot right on the Yampa River. Yampa Valley Kitchen is another outstanding breakfast and lunch spot downtown that we highly recommend.

As the Sun goes down you should check out Laundry, Mahogany Ridge which is a brewery and grill, and Salt & Lime is a popular hot spot downtown. Craving Italian? Mambo is run by a New York Italian, and the best Italian in town.

PLAY

Holy shit Batman, is there a lot to do. You can Mountain Bike on Steamboat Resort’s mountain.

There are several great golf courses, most notable are Rollingstone Ranch, which is actually on the mountain, and Haymaker.

There are also some great mountain climbing and bouldering spots which you can find guides for at Rocky Mountain Ventures.

Looking for a little easy access downhill action? Check out the Alpine Slide on Howelsen Hill.

EXPLORE

It might be a little late in the year to float the Yampa River, but we’ll let you know if it’s not. There are also countless hiking trails around town which we recommend checking out.

There’s also a bison ranch, Lucky 8, that we may check out earlier in the week as you can rent four wheelers and cruise around.

Also, you can always check out Strawberry Springs, if you’re looking for a good soak.

For a great leisurely stroll, check out the Yampa River Botanic Gardens.
